The Clock Tower

Draperie Street, 89000 Auxerre

At once a defense tower, a prison, and then transformed into a clock in 1483, this tower has a lot to teach you! The clock's unique feature comes from its two hands: the Auxerre clock therefore tells us both solar time and the phases of the moon. Restored from 2020 to 2022, it illuminates the city center district with its colors and gilding.
